The funeral service for Margaret Inez Sander, 85, of Belview, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Belview.
Margaret Inez (McCarty) Sander was born on February 6, 1941, in Worthington, MN, to William and Georgianna (Jordan) McCarty. She was baptized at the Catholic Church in Worthington and confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family lived on their farmstead in rural Echo. Margaret attended Echo Township School. She was united in marriage to Tyler Eugene Sander on June 16, 1955. In 1956, they moved to their present home in Belview. Margaret received her LPN certification in Willmar in 1975 and, later, received her BS in Nursing in Willmar in 1997. She worked as a Nurse for 35 years in various places including the Granite Falls Hospital, Renvilla Nursing Home, Parkview Nursing Home and Wood Dale Nursing Home. She was a member of the Red Hat Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Parkview Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doll collecting, antique collecting, and genealogy. She also enjoyed time spent with family, being at the lake and her dog Sassy.
Margaret died on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. She is survived by daughters Vicky (Marvin) Kuehn of Redwood Falls, Cheri Fern of St. Cloud, Rose Jackson (Michael) of Belview, and Mary (Tim) Schwaegerl of Brookings, SD; daughter-in-law Kathy Sander of Redwood Falls; son-in-law Doug Arnold of Brandon; 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as siblings, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tyler Eugene Sander, son Robert Sander, daughter Patricia Arnold, grandson Brandon Sander, great-grandson Jaden Sander and her siblings.
