Lorraine Marie Petersen

Lorraine Petersen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton, Minnesota, with family at her side. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Wabasso. Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Wabasso is handling the arrangements. Lorraine M. Petersen was born March 25, 1929, to Alois and Elizebeth Frericks in Remsen, Iowa. The family moved to Minnesota in 1936. Lorraine attended school at St. Anne’s. She was united in marriage to Robert Christian Petersen June 21, 1949, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. They owned and operated Pete's Dairy Frost in Fairfax for many years. Lorraine wintered in Arizona for over forty years. Lorraine and Robert also owned and operated a laundromat in Mesa, Arizona. In 1973 Lorraine and her mother traveled to Europe for one month, visiting relatives in Luxembourg and Germany. Lorraine is survived by her siblings: James (Lanay) Frericks of Silver Bay, Minnesota, Karen Pelzel of Jefferson, Wisconsin, and Ronald (Linda) Frericks of Hopkins, Minnesota; and sisters-in-law Marilyn, Joan, and Dianne Frericks. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Robert, brothers Donald, Joseph, and Kenneth, and brother-in-law Kenneth Pelzel. The family wants to extend our heartfelt THANKS to the staff at Valley View Manor for the wonderful care Lorraine received.
