Lila Mae Jeseritz

The funeral service for Lila Jeseritz, 96, of Hutchinson, formerly of Wood Lake, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wood Lake.

Lila Mae (Mock) Jeseritz was born on October 8, 1929, in Vesta, Minnesota, the daughter of Herbert Mock and his wife Olga (Kletscher) Mock. On October 27, 1929, she was brought to Holy Baptism at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta. She passed away on June 24, 2026 reaching the age of 96.

She renewed her baptismal covenant with God by the rite of confirmation on April 18, 1943, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. On September 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harold Jeseritz at Peach Lutheran Church in Echo. This union was blessed with four sons, Gary, Gene, Gale and Greg. Lila graduated from the Echo Public High School in 1947. She was a legal secretary in Redwood Falls prior to her marriage.

As a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School for 20 years where she also served as Sunday School pianist. She taught Vacation Bible School as well as being a teacher’s aide at the parochial school. She served on flower committee, welcoming committee, and invitation committee for the church centennial and wrote and gave a centennial poem.

Lila was a 72 year member of the Wood Lake American Legion Auxiliary holding many of its offices. She was also a 50 plus year member of the Merry Mother’s Birthday Club and active in community events. The Lord blessed her with the gift of writing poetry. She loved her Lord, her family, flowers, poetry, and music.

Lila died on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, MN.

She leaves to mourn her four sons and their wives. Gary (Sherry) of Algona, IA, Gene (Dorothy) of Hutchinson, MN, Gale (Brenda) of Omaha, NE, and Greg (Karyn) of Cottage Grove, MN. Ten grandchildren: Jeremy (Jessica) Jeseritz, Kelly Danilson, Shad (Heidi) Jeseritz, Andrea (Preston) Pearson, Paul (Deidra) Jeseritz, Jessica (Damon) Day, Brett (Becky) Jeseritz, Bart (Anna) Jeseritz, Parker Jeseritz, and Megan Jeseritz and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 74 years, Harold, her brother Arden (Hazel) Mock and her sister Carol (Myron) Muetzel.
