The funeral service for Laurel Edenburn, 90, of Belview, will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Echo City Cemetery.

Laurel Avalon (Schroeder) Edenburn was born on September 23, 1935, in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Lester and Gertrude (Bortz) Schroeder. She was baptized on September 28, 1936, at the Methodist Parsonage in Echo by the Reverend J. Wesley Johnston, and confirmed at the Echo Methodist Church on May 27, 1945, by Pastor C. B. Harris. Laurel passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 90, at Parkview Senior Living Nursing Home in Belview, MN.

While attending the Echo Public School, Laurel worked for five years at the Echo Enterprise, which was the last hand-set newspaper in Minnesota. After graduating on May 28, 1953, Laurel worked as a teletype operator for Northwestern Bell in St. Paul. On May 28, 1955, she was united in marriage to David Edenburn at the Echo United Methodist Church. They farmed near Echo for 43 years, and following retirement lived in Granite Falls for 2 years. In 1999, they returned to Echo.

After David passed away August 28, 2011, Laurel continued to live in Echo until moving to Parkwood Apartments in Belview in March of 2017. In March of 2024, Laurel moved into Parkview Nursing Home.

Laurel enjoyed reading, bus trips that she and David went on, and her many puzzle books. She was a 57 year member of the Echo American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Lori (Roger) Wing of Echo, Lisa (Steven) Wilson of Eau Claire, WI, and Lane (Nancy) Edenburn of Denver, CO; grandchildren Joy (Craig) Isaacson, Matthew (Ashley) Potter, Ramzee Rue, and Alex Wilson; great-grandchildren Cailey Isaacson, Brooke Isaacson, Lindsey Haefemeyer, and Breanna Potter; great-great-grandson due in July; and sisters-in-law Marion Fennern and Vivian Knutson. She was preceded in death by her husband David, parents Lester and Gertrude, brother Dallas Schroeder, sisters-in-law Marge Schroeder and Carolyn Henning, and brothers-in-law Marlan Henning, Gerald Fennern and John Knutson.
