Judith Ann Bendix

The funeral service for Judith “Judy” Bendix, 85, of Echo, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at the Echo Cemetery.

Judith Ann “Judy” (Noard) Bendix was born on February 27, 1941, in Montevideo, MN, to Leon and Gladys (Hemsing) Noard. She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1959. Judy earned her LPN Degree from Bethesda School of Nursing in St. Paul. On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Arden Bendix at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. The couple farmed and raised their family in rural Echo. Judy worked for the Parkview Home in Belview for a time, and for the Granite Falls Hospital and Manor for 45 years. After retirement, she continued nursing by volunteering for hospice.

Judy was a longtime active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Echo where she served with Ladies Aid, LWMS, and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles. She was very active and enjoyed walking, biking and water aerobics. Judy really enjoyed travelling, especially wintering in Arizona, camping and cruises. She and Arden went on many special trips together.

Judy died on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She is survived by her husband, Arden Bendix of Echo, daughter Janet (and Jonathan) Prowatzke of Annandale, MN, son Jim (and Carrie) Bendix of Echo, daughter Jolene (and Josh) Schwietering of Big Lake, grandchildren Brady (and Kathryn) Prowatzke, Brandon (and Hailee) Prowatzke and Bailey Prowatzke (fiancé Matt Moen), Chloe Schwietering and Nadia Schwietering; great-grandchildren James, Giovana and Jude Prowatzke, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Virginia (and Dennis) Pederson.
