Funeral Service for Gerald Rodney Lamprecht, 86, of Wabasso, MN will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso, MN beginning at 10:00 a.m. Public visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Upon conclusion of the graveside service a luncheon will be held at church.
Gerald Rodney Lamprecht was born on March 19, 1939 to Albert and Adehlia (Wendt) Lamprecht in Redwood Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso, MN. He graduated from Wabasso High School in 1957, after which he entered the Army Reserves for 6 years, beginning with basic training and monthly drill duty. Shortly after that he entered Mankato Vocational School with a goal to work in an auto body shop. In due time he realized his heart was in farming working alongside with his father Albert Lamprecht and brother Rollie Lamprecht.
He married Barbara Mell July 19, 1975 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Living in their own home on the home place Gerry continued doing crop farming along with an egg operation.
Over the years he continued growing recognition with awards for corn & bean yields. He took pride and meticulous care to maintain picture perfect fields, mowing road ditches and the area around the home place buildings.
Gerald died Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall, MN surrounded by family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Adehlia (Wendt) Lamprecht; brother Ralston “Rollie” Lamprecht; a premature son Jeffery Allen Lamprecht. Gerald is survived by his wife Barbara Mell Lamprecht; daughter Amanda “Mandy” Boucek and her husband Martin Boucek, their children William and Charlotte of Marshall, MN; one sister Gloria Lamprecht of Bloomington, MN; sisters-in-law Deb (Greg) Serbus of Redwood Falls, MN, Linda Hennen and Dan of Spirit Lake, IA; brother-in-law Rich (Deb) Mell of Brandon, SD; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
