To watch the recording of Dale's service, click the following link: https://youtu.be/F5P9CZSdLuc The funeral service for Dale Luepke Sr., 79, of Granite Falls, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Hawk Creek Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available via link from the church Facebook page: facebook.com/groups/hawkvalle. A recording of the service will be available at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Dale Carl Luepke was born on August 13, 1941, in Echo Township to Theodore and Clara (Kruse) Luepke. He attended country school and Echo High School. Dale worked as a Diesel Mechanic for a time in the Twin Cities. He later worked for YMC Motors for a time before he opened his business: Luepke Repair. He married JoAnn Reinke and to this union were born six children: Kathy, Michael, Lee, Kim, Dale Jr., and Kari. Later he married Sharon Hanson and adopted her sons Otto and Chad. In his younger years, Dale enjoyed fishing. He was very meticulous with his yardwork, mowing, and flower beds. He enjoyed his dogs and watching birds. Dale also enjoyed snowmobiling and stock car racing. He was proud of his 45 years of sobriety. On March 8, 1998, he was united in marriage to Marjorie (Hoepner) Gummert. Dale died under hospice care on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at his residence in Granite Falls. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Granite Falls; children Kathy Luepke of Le Sueur, Michael (and Pam) Luepke of Granite Falls, Lee (and Julie) Luepke of Granite Falls, Kim Christians (significant other Fred Thoennes) of Granite Falls, Dale Luepke Jr. of Kandiyohi County, Kari Woldt of Cape Coral, FL, Otto (and Theresa) Luepke of Sacred Heart, and Chad Luepke (special friend Bridget Lee) of Rice Lake, WI; step-son David Gummert of Wood Lake; 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, JoAnn Luepke, step-son Paul Gummert, step-daughter Christine Ohland, daughter-in-law Amy Luepke, one sister and four brothers.
