Lavonne Ann Bernardy

Lavonne Bernardy, 78, of Wabasso, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Monday, February 15, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Sunday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 pm followed by a CCW rosary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Lavonne Ann (Guetter) Bernardy was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1938 to John and Armella (Baune) Guetter on the family farm near Wabasso. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso, and graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic High School in 1956. On September 10, 1960 Lavonne was united in marriage to Adolph Bernardy at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. They made their home on a farm near Seaforth in Vail Township. Lavonne was a homemaker and also worked for over 10 years at the Wabasso TV and Trustworthy Hardware Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth and was involved with the Christian Mothers and Ladies American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, cooking large family meals, knitting, quilting, embroidery, and playing cards, especially Sheephead. She truly loved spending time with her grandkids and loved to be with her family and friends. On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, Lavonne peacefully passed away surrounded by her husband and children gathered in prayer at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 78 years and 22 days. She is survived by her husband, Adolph Bernardy of Wabasso; children, Steven (Cynthia) Bernardy of Wooster, OH, Gordon (Laurie) Bernardy of St. Peters, MO, Sharon (Ross) Patullo of Lakeville, MN, and Dale (Amy) Bernardy of Ham Lake, MN; grandchildren, Kristin (Jacob) Adams, Alissa (Keith) Osborn, Brianna, Tyler, and Austin Bernardy, Andrew, Alex, Sarah, Emily, Isaac, and Samuel Patullo, and Jewel Harris, and Reed Harris; great grandchildren, Jackson, and Lincoln Adams, and Beckett Osborn; siblings, Donald (Elaine) Guetter of Wabasso, Gerald (Bernice) Guetter of Wabasso, John (Sue) Guetter of AZ, Robert (Diane) Guetter of Redwood Falls, Diane (Jerry) Fischer of Comfrey, Dennis (Renata) Guetter of Wabasso, Marvin Guetter of Sioux Falls, SD, Carol (Kenneth) Clark of Marshall, Steven (Beverly) Guetter of Rochester, and William Guetter of Morgan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Ava Bernardy. Blessed be her memory.
