Nora (Slettedahl) Busack, 96 of Echo passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 17, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Echo Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association is caring for the family. Nora Jeanette (Slettedahl) Busack was born on April 25, 1918 in Sioux Agency Township near Echo, MN to Paul and Anna (Oye’) Slettedahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo and attended Echo Country School. She grew up on the family farm near Echo. On September 9, 1938, Nora was united in marriage to Ward Busack in South Dakota. They made their home on a farm near Echo where Nora was a Homemaker, helped Ward on the farm and worked at Zytec in Redwood Falls and as a cook for a restaurant by New Ulm. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was active with the Ladies Aid. Nora enjoyed growing potatoes and was known as a very good cook. She liked gardening, fishing up north with Ward, and spending many winters in Texas, but most importantly she loved spending time with friends and family. On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, Nora passed away at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview at the age of 96 years old. She is survived by her one son Billy Busack of Echo; one sister Bernice (Gerhard) Marquardt of Waconia, sister-in-law Mable Slettedahl of Cottonwood, and brother-in-law Arfield Kvendru of Belview, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ward in 1990, infant daughter Elda Joy, brothers Palmer, Jonard, Prescott, Elmer, and David Slettedahl, sisters Cora Busack, Rosella Hartke, and Adella Kvendru.
