Adeline Timm

Adeline Louise Warnke Timm, age 94, of Cottonwood, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services will be 1:30 PM on Friday, July 27, 2012 at English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2012 with a prayer service at 6:45 PM all at the church and will continue one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will be in the English Lutheran Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Adeline Louise Warnke Timm was born on March 17, 1918 to Emil and Hannah (Duensing) Podoll in Cottonwood, Minnesota. She was born premature and therefore baptized at her home in Cottonwood. Her mother passed away a month after she was born and was raised by her grandmother and aunts. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota. She attended school In Danvers and Appleton before returning to the Cottonwood area in 1939. In 1939, Adeline married Vern Warnke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN. They had two children together and in 1986, Vern passed away. In 1991, Adeline married Leroy Timm at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Adeline worked at the creamery in Cottonwood candling eggs. She also did babysitting and ladies depended on her to “pin curl” their hair on Saturday mornings. She was a member of English Lutheran Church her whole life and was the janitor there for over 30 years. She enjoyed listening to good music, especially hymns, and sang in the church choir for 30 years. She also enjoyed gardening, needlework, and spending time with her family. Adeline had a tough life but through it all she went on trusting the Lord to lead her. She will be dearly missed by many. On Thursday, July 23, 2012, Adeline passed away at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls at the age of 94. She is survived by her two children, Douglas (Joyce) Warnke and LaVila (Gordon) Geistfeld both of Cottonwood ,MN; grandchildren, Terri (Jamie) Gilsrud, Kari (Shane) Wee, Chad (Sherri) Warnke, Angela (Jeff) Raddatz, Gary (Ann) Geistfeld, Corey (Michelle) Geistfeld, and Janna Geistfeld; great-grandchildren, Sam Gilsrud, Kristina Gilsrud, Brandon (Samantha) Wee, Garrett Wee, Ashton Warnke, Abby Warnke, Benjamin (Katie) Raddatz, Leah (Joshua) Krohn, Tiffany (Paul) Distad, Zachary (Olga) Geistfeld, Chase Geistfeld, Brooke Geistfeld, and Blake (Erin) Geistfeld; great-great grandchildren, Gwyneth Distad, Jackson Distad, Ellyanna Raddatz, and Harper Krohn; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents, brothers, Orwell, Marlow, and Donald Podoll, sisters, Lois Podoll and Gladys Thoen, and granddaughter Kristal Warnke preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
