Arvid Jordan of Wabasso, Minnesota passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home in Wabasso. Service will be 10 AM Friday, July 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are handling the arrangements. Arvid C. Jordan was born on November 14, 1931 to Frank and Bertha (Schmidt) Jordan on the family farm in Redwood County, Minnesota. He was baptized on November 7, 1931 and confirmed in June of 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. He attended and graduated in 1950 from Wabasso Public Schools. In 1952, Arvid enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1954. After returning home from the Army, Arvid made his home in the Wabasso area. He worked in the construction industry building bridges and hauling gravel most of his life. He also has worked for Puzzle Craft and as an attendant at the Standard Oil Station in Wabasso. Arvid was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan and was on the church council for 6 years. He also was an active member of the Wabasso American Legion. Arvid enjoyed watching television, reading western novels, listening to old time music, going to threshing shows with his brother Andy, and loved God’s creations, especially birds and small animals. On July 16, 2012, Arvid passed away peacefully in his home at the Heritage Prairie Apartments in Wabasso at the age of 80 years old. He is survived by his cousins and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by many. His parents, and brother Andrew preceded him in death. Blessed be his memory.
