Linus J. Goblirsch, age 75, of Wabasso, MN passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the church with a prayer service at 7PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the New Avon Township Cemetery north of Wabasso. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Linus Joseph Goblirsch was born on April 8, 1937 to John and Katherine (Heiling) Goblirsch in New Avon Township. He was baptized, confirmed and went to school at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Linus served his country in the United States Army. On September 14, 1963 Linus married Janice Hagen at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. They made their home and farmed in the New Avon Township. In 1991, Linus retired from farming and began work spraying ditches for Redwood County and also worked at the Redwood Falls Elementary school in the kitchen. Linus was easy going, soft spoken and a very proud man. Linus enjoyed short drives looking at crops, playing cards, spending time with relatives, especially his grandchildren, he enjoyed playing 21 and bingo while teasing the staff of Wood Dale Nursing Home. On Monday, May 21, 2012 Linus passed away at the Wood Dale Nursing Home at the age of 75. He is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Deb) Goblirsch of Redwood Falls and Dwayne Goblirsch of Brandon, SD; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grand children ,two brothers, Ervin (Betty) Goblirsch of Long Prairie, MN and James (June) Goblirsch of Redwood Falls, one sister, Rita (Art) Seidl of Sleepy Eye, MN and sister-in-law, Bernice Goblirsch of Morgan. His parents, wife Janice, brothers, Alvin, Lawrence, and John, sister, Ruth, and brother-in-law Bernard Goelz preceded him in death. Blessed be his memory.
