Eugene H. Remmele, age 91, of Echo, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Seasons Home Hospice in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Service will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Echo City Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are handling the arrangements. Eugene Hugo Remmele was born on February 4, 1921 to Robert and Anna (Vollmer) Remmele on the family farm in rural Echo, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo and attended and graduated from Echo public school. On June 27, 1947 Eugene was united in marriage to Lorraine Stelter at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta, Minnesota. They made their home in the Echo area where Eugene farmed his entire life. Eugene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Echo and was active on the church counsel, as treasurer and also sang in the church choir. He also served on the Echo school board. Eugene loved farming, traveling, following sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. On April 28, 2012, Eugene passed away at the Seasons Home Hospice in Redwood Falls, Minnesota at the age of 91. Eugene is survived by his three children, John (Debra) Remmele of Redwood Falls, MN, Robert (Janice) Remmele of Schererville, IN and James Remmele of Echo, MN; eight grandchildren, Bryon, Karen, Jason (Tina), Nathan and Kevin Remmele, Marshall (and fiancé Carolyn Rauen) Remmele and Renae and Jill Remmele; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. His parents, wife Lorraine, two infant children, Richard Carl and RuthAnn, daughter-in-law Marcia, Brothers, Wilbert and Murl and sister Gladys Johnson preceded him in death. Blessed be his memory.
