Helen Hildebrant

Helen Hildebrant, age 93, of Granite Falls, formerly of Cottonwood passed away March 11, 2012, at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls. Services will be held Thursday March 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Christ Lutheran Church of Cottonwood, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 14, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the church. Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are in charge of the arrangements. Helen Joan Hildebrant was born on February 1, 1919 in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Otis and Emma Olson. She was baptized at Hazel Run Lutheran Church and confirmed at Silo Lutheran Church. Helen attended Cottonwood Public School and graduated in 1936, she then attended Business College in Minneapolis. On August 23, 1941 Helen married Therold Isaackson at Silo Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Therold passed away on February 18, 1976. On October 7, 1979 she was united in marriage to LaVern Hildebrant. Helen was a Sunday School Teacher, served on a stewardship committee, Bible school Teacher, made quilts, layettes and soap at Christ Lutheran. At St. John’s Lutheran in Texas she served on a prayer committee and made prayer shawls. She was a member of the Elks and Sons of Norway in charge of stamp collections and financial secretary. Helen also enjoyed knitting, crafts, aqua aerobics, gardening, cooking, and baking especially Lefsa and Scandinavian treats. She loved playing cards and spending time with her cats Otis and Amos. Helen Hildebrant passed away on March 11, 2012 at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls attaining the age of 93 years, one month and 10 days. She is survived by her son Tom Isaackson of Hanley Falls, grandchildren; Lisa (Jeff) Varpness, Terry (Mendy) Lange, Deb Ness, Lori (Randy) Schueler, Linda (Jim) Grothen, Colleen (Mitch) Olson, Tim (Tammy) Isaackson, Kenny (Sandy) Isaackson, 23 great grandchildren, and 7 great–great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Lois (Roy) Schoenroch of Hot Springs Village, AR. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Therold Isaackson and LaVern Hildebrant, daughter Beverly Lange, a sister Shirley Kennedy and a great-great granddaughter Stephanie Javens.
